SBQ: Stash Insurance

This SBQ was suggested by Dani and is:

Have you ever thought of getting a rider on your household insurance to properly cover your stash (some of us have quite an extensive stash that an average household policy wouldn’t fully cover) in the case of some sort of damage to your house that would destroy/ruin charts, fabrics, floss, etc?

Interesting question. I’ve never even thought about it, even though we already have riders to cover my engagement/wedding rings and Terry’s digital SLR camera. I might just have to call my insurance agent and see just how covered I would be in the event of an emergency. Yet another reason to get back to coding my stash software program so that I know exactly what I have. 🙂

Oddly enough, I had a nightmare a few days before this question came out that my stash burned. Wierd…

    What, your stash burned?

I’d never even thought of this but it is a very good question. I have some books that are rare …

Hmmmm, I have never thought of stash insurance before either. I wonder it is coverable? It would be devastating to lose stash – sorry about your nightmare! {{{hugs}} Oh, Jenna – I have to tell you – I adore the jewelry you made for Isabelle!!!

BTW, your PIF gift is finally the next one up for me! I hope to even do it this month! LOL! Don’t think I forgot you, please!!

My Basement flooded thanks to Katrina and much of mu stash was lost! This was a very good question to raise because I only got pennies on the dollar, because they wanted reciepts and on then they were not willing to pay for my time stitching each item on a hourly basis, Live and learn! Is all I have to say. I still shed tears when I think of all I lost and all of the precious time I spent that wasn’t even covered or replaced. I am teary eyed just writing this and it is years later. My advise is think of it now while you can do something about it!
