New Fabric for Fairy Moon

I’ve decided, after seeing Terri’s rendition of Fairy Moon on a darker, specially dyed fabric, that I’m not too far into my Fairy Moon project to start over again. I originally started her on Silkweaver’s Twilight Reflections fabric.
Twilight Reflections
I’ve now come to the conclusion that, especially because I don’t do many large projects, I need to be a little less of a wuss and go with a much darker and non-opalescent fabric that will show the moon, dust and sparkles of the design more.

So, I’m looking for suggestions, ladies. I’d like a medium or dark (not too dark, please) fabric that will make it appear that she strolling through the clouds in a beautiful evening or nighttime sky. Something that doesn’t clash with either the distinctive blue of the wings or the mulberry color of her cape. Once I’ve narrowed down selections to my favorite handful, I’ll put a poll up to allow you to vote for your favorite. 🙂

    Hi Jenna,
I started this one years ago on Mulberry Cashel – it is about 1/2 done, but I have not picked it up in years. I want to restart it on a hand dyed, even though it is gorgeous on Mulberry! I noticed that if using 28 ct I need slightly larger than a fat quarter. So I spent a lot of time looking around and about six months ago picked up a Silkweaver Solo that is large enough – pricey too!! – it is purples and mauves, really pretty. I can try to send you a scan or picture of it…. I also just got in a very dark blue metallic from SMF called Midnight Sparkle which I think would be stunning for it – it is a belfast, so fat quarter may be OK….. I like the idea of the project looking like it is against a night sky…. have you seen the model stitched somewhere on Silkweaver’s site? It is near the bottom of a page somewhere, I think. It is a solo fabric, but sooooooooo pretty. It might give you some ideas! I like the Twilight you are using – you could keep it and maybe adjust your floss and bead colors to show up better if you don’t think they show well on it??

I’m going to do my Fairy Moon on Blue Spruce belfast linen (substituting the beads in the moon for petites). I’ve seen someone’s finished FM on this fabric and it is soooo beautiful!

    Actually, here’s a link:

It’s not the one I originally saw, but it still looks good 🙂
