Let me recap everything I have posted in my gallery since late February-ish.

First, I’ve completed a total of 6 SOLAK squares to be used in two different quilts.

One quilt had a Celtic theme (also dragons, but you’ll see shortly why I didn’t do any dragon squares), for which I stitched two squares in purple, which was the recipient’s favorite color. Here is Celtic Knot #1 and Celtic Knot #2. This quilt is already finished and in the hands of the recipient. It turned out beautifully, thanks to Sylvia Lyth who is one of the two coordinators of the SOLAK group and also one of the primary quilters. If you look closely, you’ll see my two squares in the top left and right corners of the quilt. And Gemma is such a pretty young woman (she’s in her early 20’s) who lives in the UK.

The second quilt has a dragon theme, hence why I chose to stitch the Celtic knots for Gemma’s quilt instead. I stitched a total of 4 dragon squares for this quilt, which has not yet been finished. One was called Small But Mighty and is a stylized, Oriental dragon. The other 3 squares were all from designs by Dragon Dreams – one entitled Dragon Love, the second named Christmyth Dragon and the third called Here Be Dragons.

I’ll post a photo of the finished quilt when Mary Richmond (the other group coordinator and primary quilter for the US) is done with it. Hopefully, I’ll also be able to post a picture of the finished quilt with its recipient, if someone captures one.

Other finishes include Wildflower Hearts from the NAS projects in my own choice of colors, Never Too Big, which was the March ornament for the JCS SAL (I was one day too late for the end of March deadline), Christmas Jewels, which was the April ornament for the JCS SAL (I stitched it the day after finishing the March ornament so that I wouldn’t miss the April deadline) and a Nordic Needle freebie, which I finished into a coaster.

Other than that, I have finished the last NAS project, but I’m still waiting to get a good picture of it, as the scanner distorts the colors and the previous picture I took was in daylight and is too dark.

I also made the decision after my breakdown to stop stitching for the needlework shop for which I had been working for a while. The projects were coming too close together and I wasn’t enjoying them, so it was just causing me too much stress. I left the door open so that I can go back to it, if I want. I get the feeling that I was one of their quicker stitchers (surprise, surprise, I always thought I was slow), so they were a little bit disappointed, I think, but the woman was really nice and understanding about me needing a break for a while.

At the same time, I placed an order for some S.E.X. (that’s Stash Enhancement Expedition, for those of you who might be thinking otherwise) to use up my model stitching credit. I ordered Strawberries So Faire by With My Needle, Wintry Mix by Just Nan, the first 4 scissors fobs from The Sweetheart Tree’s new set of Teenie Tweenie fobs and two pairs of scissors from Cougar Stahlwarenfabrik – Black Gold Filigree and Regal Embroideries. I’ll also get the other 4 Sweetheart Tree fobs when they come out, which will use the remainder of my stitching credit and then some.

Okay, so it looks like I haven’t updated my stitching progress in a long time.
