Weekend Plans Gone Awry

I had high hopes for this weekend. Training finished well on Friday and I had a lot of fun. We beat Diablo’s butt last night and ate a lot of pizza. But I woke up this morning with pain in the right shoulder, neck and head. Took two Excedrin and laid back down. Woke up a couple of hours later, went downstairs and stitched for a while. Ate breakfast, took two Fioricets and laid down for a nap. Woke up a couple of hours later, ate some more food and stitched some more. I still have a headache and my head feels like it’s going to explode, so I think it’s about time to take the mega migraine medicine and lay down again.

Needless to say, we did not travel to see the baby today. Fortunately (or unfortunately?), Terry doesn’t feel so hot either, so it’s not all my fault that we can’t go. We’ll drive over to see them next weekend, once we’ve both recovered. In the meantime, I seem to be paying for the week of training and the excessive gaming last night. I’m glad that I’ll be seeing the neurologist on Thursday.

I probably shouldn’t have stitched today, but I get SO BORED when I have a migraine! I can’t really watch TV because it’s hard on the eyes (and the ears), I don’t want to sleep all day, I don’t think I could read for the same reason as not watching TV, so what does that leave me? Not a whole lot. So I stitched, whether my body liked it or not. I started the Alchemy Stitchcraft mystery sampler. Part II was released this morning and I hadn’t even had a chance to work on Part I during the week, so I caught up by stitching both parts today. This photo doesn’t show the colors accurately at all. It looks so much nicer in person and I’ll probably lay it on the scanner at some point to get the best representation:

Now that I’m caught up, I took that project off of the stand and put my Twisted Oaks Designs Hearts and Flowers Hardanger Collection on the stand. I’ll try to work on that tonight if I’m still bored or tomorrow when I’ll hopefully be feeling much better. Of the other two ladies with whom I was doing an informal SAL on this set of designs, one has completed all of her stitching and the other has actually finished all of the pieces into their final form. I’m waaaaaaay behind on this one and I like the designs, so I want to get moving on it.

For now, though, I’m hungry again, so I’m going to get something more to eat and then think about taking some medicine. I hope that everyone else is having a great weekend!

Jenna, I’m glad you listen to your body when you need to take some meds and take a nap. I hope you’ll be back to normal tomorrow and I’m hoping the neurologist will find some answers for your headaches!

Yay, not much longer before you see the Neurologist, which is good – I used or organise a conference every year (for 7 years) in my last job for all the NZ Neurologists, and if the one you’re seeing is anything like the lot I knew, you’ll be in the best hands! 🙂 Hope you kick that headache in the butt! Your mystery sampler is coming along great – I signed up when we got the first invitation in Stitching Smalls, but still haven’t delurked or worked out my materials yet … oops! Your colours are really pretty 🙂

My friend… I am so sorry that your stressful week is taking such a heavy toll on you. 🙁
I am sending you plenty of hugs and hoping that today will be a much better day…
I will think of you very dearly on Thursday – I’m writing the date in my planner – and keep my fingers crossed tight that the Neurologist does ALL he/she can to help you finally get over those crises.

That mystery sampler is lovely – are you stitching it on Mint Green cashel? (it looks a lot like the Zweigart I stitch my Petal Fairy on).
I couldn’t find anything on the WWW so I guess this is a private mystery sampler, through a Yahoo group? Looks like it’ll be very pretty! 🙂

Take care my dear friend. 🙂

Oh, Jenna, you poor dear. I hope you’re feeling better now and that the neurologist has some good news. I don’t know how you can stitch with a migraine – you must have an incredible will! I could only handle dark rooms and no noise. Thank heavens I haven’t had one (knock wood!) in over 10 years.

Hey Jenna – sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather again. Glad you were able to get some stitching done. Hope that your visit to the neurologist later in the week will help you to get this all figured out.
