A hearty welcome to Charles (Charlie) David Bates, born on January 17th at 6:18 PM, 5 pounds 14 ounces, 19 1/2 inches long. He’s a couple of weeks early and had some trouble clawing his way into the world, so he’ll be spending a few extra days in the hospital after a stressful delivery via c-section. They knew from the ultrasounds that the cord was wrapped around his neck and his momma is an awfully small lady, so the doctor had already prepared her for the probability of delivering via c-section, but it sounds like there were some additional complications during labor. We’ll get more details when we can actually speak with them. The mom is fine, but any well wishes, positive/healing energy and/or prayers for the baby would be appreciated. I’m sure he’ll be fine and home soon!
